How to forward port

ok, i have my outside ip. my router is 192.168.1.1, and my pc is 192.168.1.100. i want to acces this comp using remote desktop.

so i go to the port forwarding page on my router. i need the following entries:

external port: ___ to _____

tcp protocal: yes/no

UDP protocal: yes/no

ip address:_____________

can anyone fill in the blanks? :)

looks like you need to forward port 3389, but more detailed setup information can be found here.

edit: but for the IP address, you would enter the address of your computer ie... 192.168.1.100, because it would forward that port to your computer

ok, this is what i have so far:

external port: 3389 to 3389

tcp protocal: yes

UDP protocal: no

ip address:_____________

i have no idea what to put for ip. do i put the computers, or the routers, or the internets?

brochaos, in your connections settings on the computer, set a static IP address so that your computer will alwaysh ave the same IP no matter what order it is turned on in regards to other computers on the router.
