Slow excel marcos

Question

Hi I have a co-worker who has made a spreadsheet in Excel 2010 with so many dropdown(15) and checkboxes(35)..... everytime changes to be made to the spreadsheet it slows down is that because there are too many marcos?

Would i speed it up if the marcos were on different sheets i haven't tried it yet has it would not close the application?

Regards

Raiders

the macros should not matter on it as it will only run each macro as they are called

usually if its so slow its due to the amount of calculations going on

in the bottom left of the status bar does it say Calculating?

also is it a shared file?

There aren't any calculating going on. Yes is it shared on the network. it is 45,000kb

What happens when the user selects a dropdown / checkbox?

Does this trigger the code (i.e. run a macro) or change a value in a cell (causing a recalculation to be required)?

Does it perform better if calculation is set to manual (on the formulas tab)?
