Krux
well if its windows 2k or xp you open the command prompts and type "net send (name of computer) then msg." if you want to send it to the entire network type "net send * then msg"

MxxCon
you can't send to a whole campus network unless you have network-wide administrator access.

pimpshiznid
Um, with novell netware clients, you can send a message to every computer on the network, with normal user privilages... I know, cause I did it, broadcasted to the entire class that our Comps teacher blew hog balls... and by selecting entire class, I forgot that I selected the teacher too... In order to do it, you have to find the novell netware folder, and click on various proggys inside until one makes a little N on the system tray, right click and go to send message, or something like that... We upgraded out of Novell a year ago, so I don't remember EXACTLY how to do it...

This is true. one boy was kicked out for abusing network messaging. They can easily trace it to you so don't think you are anonymous. Sorry for thinking that you are using it for spam but if you want to message a whole campus I have a hard time thinking of a legitmate reason for it
AdamKnowles
Simply go into command via the run menu, then type in "net view" without the quotes, this will give you a list of all the active computers on the college network. You can type "net user" this will give you the network name of the computer you are on which WILL APPEAR on the computer you are sending it to. Then simply type "net send NAMEOFCOMPUTER YOUR MESSAGE" works a treat and usually you don't need any permissions at all, although watch as you might acceidentally send on to and admin and he mightn't have had his coffee.
