What to do with old Atari 2600?

Recommended Posts

I was cleaning out my closet the other day and I found an Atari 2600 in prime condition, no damage, no scratches, in original box and all.

Just for the fun of it I thought I would advertise it on eBay and see if it's worth anything to a collector. :shifty:

Anyway, I fired it up and played centipede for about 40 minutes, and it's funny. How an old game kept me playing for that long. Amazing!

How many games does it come with?

If it has 50+ games, you can get $90-100 out of it... depending on the titles.

If it has 10 or less games, you won't get much outta it. Maybe from $10-$30 depending on titles.

Keep it in prime condition for another 10 or so years. And then sell it to a collector.. Profit++

Yah. I think I'll just keep it! :D

I only have 7 games. :/

Do what I did: just add it to the working collection and continuie playing on it, keeping it in good condition (good condition b/c I'm one of those above mentioned collectors).

Nothing better than sitting down every once-in-awhile to play Pitfall, PacMan, Bezerk, Enduro, Asteroids, Missle Command, Smuf (one of the hardest damned games I own), Battlezone, Space Invaders, Solaris..... the list goes on.

And hit up your local Salvation Army or Goodwill or pawn shops - you can get games as cheap as 5-7 CENTS and that's WITH BOX and (if your lucky) instructions too!

WOW, i still have mine as well, its beat to hell and back but it still works...granted i have to use a converter for it to hook it up to my tv, it still rocks...i have about 30 or so games that still work as well, its just find to spend 10-20 minutes old schooling it once in a while...

ahh pole position, pac man, and sky jinx....

makes my ps2 that much more enjoyable...

Keep it. Good memories playing my old atari console. I had the real old, wood panel model.

 I'm going to keep it... The memories are worth a lot more than a dollar value. :)
