Hey this is just another stupid poll but i'd like to know if you guys confirm what i personally think. Also i'm interested in knowing how a big, an average or a small surfer use a portal.

I'm actually doing this poll for a my master project on the Influence of the New Medias.

I personnally use Yahoo! a lot , some are attracted to MSN and its browser, the other hate the all clustered portals....What about you???

(Of course , if yours is not listed please mention it)

As I have Google, RSS feeds, and CNN Text - I rarely touch upon portals. I will use Yahoo front-page portal and the my.yahoo.com customized portals on occasion - as such, I gave my vote to Yahoo.

mmm well i said portal cause the medias often speak about "the portal war" like AOL 8 VS MSN 8 etc....

Also i use Yahoo for the news....MSNBC is clustered with ads and so confusing...., Mail, and My Yahoo!

I usa Google for researches but i dont mind using Yahoo Search

ok well thank you for these opinions

As from what i have seen , i understand that:

New surfers would place Yahoo first and then MSN

Advanced surfers will not visit any specific portal pages but rather search through Google (exept for mail)

See, I don't use any portals anymore. I don't even have to pull up the google.com home page because I've got a Search box built into Firebird (and the Google Toolbar in IE.) So when Firebird starts up, I have it set up to remember where I left off before, instead of having a pointless "home page" that I don't use.

And I always have neowin.net open in one of the tabs, with AutoReload set for every 10 or 15 minutes or something. (I love TBE...) =)

No need for portals myself, so (Null Vote) ;)

As said above, but with MyIE2, a simple search in the address bar (and with an alpha version of MyIE2 with...) takes me straight to google.
