teraphase
I need help, Im trying to Connect my Windows 2003 computer to my Windows XP one. But nothing is happening. I can use the internet on it via my Cable Broadband connection, so the NIC's work but for some reason I get nothing when I plug the two computers together. Can anyone help me? giantsnyy2002
you need the crossover cable (switches two wires at one connector) for the two to send information to eachother. you can not just plug in the network wire into the network cards unless it is a crossover cable
+primortal Subscriber² Posted October 21, 2003 Subscriber² Share Posted October 21, 2003 no you cannot run a normal network cable between two computers. A cross-link cable is a special cable the allows to computer to see each other without a use of a hub.
