+BudMan MVC Posted October 22, 2003 MVC Share Posted October 22, 2003 Few different ways this can be done - without domains ;) First thing is turn off that stupid simple sharing option - nothing but trouble!! If you know the admin account on machine 1 - you can connect to the C$ share - giving the admin account using net use, and or when it asks on a simple unc connect - ie \\machinename\c$ When it asks for username and password - for username use machinename\username and then the password. <--- Machine name is the machine name your connecting too, not the one you coming from If you want have it show up as share - share it, making sure only your account has file permissions. On machine 2 - if you have the same username and password on that machine, you will be able to connect without being asked to auth. Or if the directory is shared - and your account on machine 2 is different than the account on machine 1. Just give the correct username and password when connecting, as in the example above. etc.. etc.. etc.. Again - make sure that STUPID simple file sharing is turned OFF!!!
