Which version of the Oresteia trilogy should I read?

1 post in this topic

I don't understand Greek, but I want to read this trilogy. I searched online for English versions, but was then baffled by just how *many* there are.

Each of them has its pros and cons, apparently. Each new versions rights the "wrongs" of the previous one, so it seems. And I don't feel like I've made any progress.

Here are some pointers: I am terrible with verse / poetry. I'm much more of a prose guy. So if you could point me to what you feel is the best English translation of the trilogy that's predominantly prosaic, it would be highly appreciated. Please help!

I'm willing to buy. I just need to know WHAT to buy.
