htimsneb
Here is the situation: (question at end) I have an HDTV ready tv and now have HDTV service through Comcast. My tv only has two HD inputs which I used to use for my XBOX and PS2. Now that I have three HD inputs and only two places to plug them in, can I get a number of component splitters and plug both my PS2 and XBOX into the remaining HD input? If so, has any tried this and will I lose signal quality/picture? Thanks. Ben

htimsneb
Sorry about the multple threads. Kept getting a server busy error so I never was sure it actually posted. Twisted metal --> I do not have DVI inputs. I have component video (Y/Pb/Pr) inputs.
Marc A.
Yeah, you can get a junction box for HD... just make sure it's a nice quality and be sure to check the specs to make sure it can pass the high bandwidth that HD rides on. Or you can do something easier: Take the PS2 down to s-video and free up the 2nd component input. PS2 games don't look soooo good that they need component inputs, and they're not 1.85:1 (16x9) anyway... Or you can do what I did, buy a new A/V receiver that has component video switching, but right there you're looking at $1500 and up.

htimsneb
Actually found the solution: http://www.pelicanperformance.com/universa...lector_pop.html Its a input selector with 8 HDTV component inputs. BesyBuy sells it for under $100. Anyone used this device before?
Bling3k12
Where do you live? I'm in way Eastern Ohio and I'm still waiting for Comcast to get HDTV out here. They say by January, but it's fast approaching and no news yet.
htimsneb
Virginia. Comcast had said Summer '03 for here and sure enough it was available the end of this past summer. The customer service reps I talked to never knew exactly when HDTV service was going to start. I found out that it was now available (before the ad campaign) because I happened to land on an HDTV channel that had previously not been there before. rpm
I live in Virginia Too.. Also why do you have component cables from your PS2 when it doesn't even have HDTV? ..Well yes it does have 480p on SOME games while XBOX, which needs component defiantly, has HDTV in 480p/720p/1080i.
