Argonaut
I was planning to go down to london by that date, so if I am around I will definitely look for you guys.... Unlikely that I will go just for it though, but will see if I can manipulate the dates to make it fit...
AshMan
I may come, havent decided as yet. Its the same day as the work christmas party so who knows.Have you decided where you want to go as yet? Hope you can make it, you too Argonaut. So far we have 30 people on the list, looking forward to adding more.As for the location, the Wetherspoon was suggested. Now that we have a rough estimate, we can decide on something suitable. Any other suggestions?

Argonaut
what about the coffee shop at the top of the new tate modern... impressive looks of london from there
rezza Veteran Posted November 20, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2003 Wow, 30 people! This is gonna be a fairly sizeable gathering, even if not everyone turns up... Are we going to have to think about booking wherever we decide to go? Groups of 30 people showing up anywhere unannounced often don't get in... AshMan
Yes, I think we will have to book, I will do so next week. As for tate modern caf?, Argonaut, I dont think it will be open so late and I was thikning we would be meeting up in the late afternoon/evening. AshMan
Regarding The Venue It was suggested that we meet at Wetherspoons. The one I think will be best for us is the top floor of Wetherspoons' The Moon under Water, located on Charing Cross Road. Please note, it's not the Wetherspoon's The Moon under Water in Leicester Square. Here is the Address: Wetherspoons - The Moon under Water 105-107 Charing Cross Road London, WC2H 0DT Phone: 020 7287 6039 Directions: If you're walking up from Tottenham Court Road towards Leicester Square underground station, The Moon under Water is located on the right hand side, after Foils and before the Arcade. Map More info about the venue Please let me know if this is OK and I will book the top floor for us Neowinians tomorrow. SMeK Veteran Posted November 20, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2003 that seems a wicked place to hold it i think ive walked past that place, when dodgy directions led to me going the wrong way i was tempted to go in for a cheap pint but was suffering form lack of fundage syndrom

rezza Veteran Posted November 20, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2003 d'oh... thanks, ashman! hmm. We need to figure out how many people attending this are actually going to be underage. If there are going to be a lot, then meeting in a bar isn't gonna be the best thing to do.
Groovedude
well if im going to be the youngest there... and end ruin it because you cant go to a bar... i wont come no worries :/ i dont wont to ruin it for all the UK NW members going.. hehe  Edited November 20, 2003 by Groovedude
rezza Veteran Posted November 20, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2003 hey don't worry about it groovedude... you're not going to ruin it... get your arse down there or else! we can always sneak you in between a few of the older members and buy you a pint lol... or we could even go somewhere else / do something else... AshMan
It should be OK I think, I mean if you young-neowinians look like you're in your late teens you should be OK. I don't like it on the ground floor, it's a bit too lively for my taste but it has a nice section upstairs for such get-togethers.
SMeK Veteran Posted November 20, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2003 i bee 18 and 6 foot tall most people get in when they are with me including my friend who at the time was 16 and got in with me, but my m8 who was 18 got id'd if we all meet up else where then go on to the pub it would be better :)
