It's true. If you use any substance that can alter brain chemistry before it's fully formed then it can have all sorts of effects.

i think that the reason there is this iq drop is because when you smoke pot it interferes with chemicals inyour brain that make connections and make memories, so if this kids had the habit of smoking before and during school they wouldnt be performing their best because they cant even remmber what they learned. other factors are also just as important i think like being motivated and influenced positively by your parents and having a good relationship with them. picking the right people you hangout with is also important.

the problem i see is that pot is probably easier for kids to get nowadays than cigarretes or alcohol.
