Yeah there is, it's called CPR.

That usually works if a foreign object is blocking the airway. In this case your neck muscles are paralyzed. And its probably too late anyway.

CPR is to jump start the heart if it stops.

I used to enjoying hiding under my bed covers when I was a kid, to the point it became uncomfortable to breathe.

Wasn't a sexual thing for me tho.

Seriously how can you "acciditentally" choke someone to death ?

Having been with a few women into choking, its pretty easy to do if

1) You don't know what you're doing

2) You aren't careful

I’ve seen this asked all over the internet and 99.9% of the people get it wrong with the wrong answers.

‘Rarely, and I mean RARELY, do people die from lack of oxygen from being strangled by another person. Strangulation and suffocation are often 2 different things. Although they can overlap.

The biggest clue as to what and how people die are  petechia in the eyes

Being strangled compresses the jugular  veins. Blood keeps building pressure in the brain. First small capillaries rupture (in the eyes) and if pressure is kept up, larger vessels in the brain. In the end the person dies of brain hemorrhages. This happens a LOT quicker vs just blocking their airway and dying from lack of air which, in reality, takes 5-10 minutes (even if you crushed their windpipe)

‘If the carotid arteries get compressed, the person can stroke out.

chances are he didn’t strangle her for 5+ minutes.... As it only takes about 1-3 minutes to cause a brain bleed or stroke

Bill signed to prevent Florida politicians from being 'deplatformed' on social media
      by Subir Kathuria

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis today signed the Big Tech Bill, also known as SB 7072 that stops social media companies from "knowingly de-platforming” Florida Politicians. Under the new law, social media companies must inform the users if they are banned or censored. It also makes it mandatory to notify users where a post is flagged as false or containing disputable information. The users, if banned, also have the ability to sue social media companies for up to $100,000.

      DeSantis said:

Interestingly the new law affects most tech companies, but it does not affect Walt Disney. A provision in the bill states that "the term does not include any information service, system, Internet search engine, or access software provider operated by a company that owns and operates a theme park or entertainment complex as defined in s. 509.013."

Many skeptics call the bill unconstitutional as it conflicts with Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which protects social media platforms from liability for good-faith moderation. It might also be challenged under the First Amendment, which prevents government interference in private websites.

Carl Szabo, VP, and General Counsel of NetChoice, a group representing big tech companies states:

The bill was first proposed by Governor DeSantis in February after former President Trump was permanently banned from Twitch, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook following the Capitol Hill riots.

Florida police arrested 277 people -- including doctors, cops and pharmacists -- during a weeklong undercover sex sting operation.

“Operation No Tricks, No Treats” began Oct. 10 and ran until Oct. 15, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

During the operation, undercover detectives and investigators from several law enforcement agencies posted false advertisements on websites, social media sites and phone apps posing as “prostitutes or to solicit sex workers."

Investigators reported 209 of those arrested were accused of “soliciting undercover detectives.” The Orlando Sentinel reported 51 others had displayed themselves as prostitutes on the internet. The office stated 17 others were arrested for other offenses.

“That’s the most we have ever arrested in the history of the sheriff’s office,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said.

One of the men arrested, Judd said, was a sergeant at his office. Sgt. Luis Diaz, who had been on the force for 17 years, resigned after the sting, FOX13 reported.

Jan. 18 (UPI) -- A kitten in Florida jumped from underneath a moving car just in time to escape a trip through a car wash.

Naples Cat Alliance shared surveillance video from Ultimate Express Car Wash of 6-week-old kitten Suds hopping out from underneath an SUV before being rescued from a soap pile by Assistant Manager Matthew Bossi.

"Thank God he saw him," President of Naples Cat Alliance Megan Sorbara told The Dodo. "He could have run and gotten hit by a car."

Suds was brought to the Naples Cat Alliance in a cardboard box and later taken to Harborside Animal Clinic for a check-up.

The kitten was relatively unharmed in the incident, but was left with a brown mark on her fur where she was burned by the car's muffler.

Suds was later taken to a foster home and the Naples Cat Alliance has already received multiple calls from people interested in adopting her permanently.

      by Andy Weir

Microsoft has announced that it will open two new retail stores in the US in the coming weeks.

The first addition to its store network will be in Boca Raton, Florida, opening on November 3 at 11am. As Windows Central reports, the first 200 customers in line for the opening will get a free ticket to meet Dan Marino, the legendary former Miami Dolphins quarterback, at a separate event on November 5.

Another Microsoft Store will open at Green Hills in Nashville, Tennessee, at 11am on November 17. The first 200 people in line at that opening will get the opportunity to meet former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George, on November 19.

Microsoft also said that "during a high-energy ribbon cutting ceremony, [it] will award technology grants to deserving community organizations in the area, as well as offer customer giveaways and one-day only product offers."
