IGN Insider or Gamespot Complete.

Recommended Posts

I've been signed up with Gamespot Complete for a while now and I love it but I can't get around the biased reviews of certain games , Halo PC comes to mind, so my question is how dows IGN insider stack up , would I be better off with IGN or stay with gamespot , I get tons of 100mb+ developer interviews from Gamespot through ftp would I get the same with IGN insider. Can someone who subscibes to IGN insider tell me , someone who has tried both would be a great help. :)

I've never tried Gamespot, but I subscribed to IGN last E3 for ?12. I've definatley got much mreo than my moneys worth out of them:DD

I dont think they have a specific FTP for developer interviews, but they often record interviews they have in video format.

I've only done temp subs to gamespot when E3 is near so can't really judge between the two. They do have developer interviews but I don't think its as often as it is over at gamespot.com. Why not give them a shot for a month? They have a montly option for $5.95. If you decide to join, you can get a free sub to EGM for the year ;)

As for reviews biased, I would never stick with one source for them anyway. I always end up reading gamespots or EGMs review before I dip into the wallket for a game.

lol. That was funny. It seems like you disregarded everyone's comment.

Actually I didn't Squibbles, I tried ign insider since I posted this topic and I'm happy to stay with gamespot for now.

I would go with neither. If you actually take any time to look, you can find EVERYTHING they offer elsewhere. Its not like IGN or Gamespot are that high quality journalists anyways. I vote neither.

Actually the high quality Developer interviews video preview reviews , is something that is worth the $20 a year subscription , and not having to search for a movie all over the net and have acess to everything on one site is something you can't beat.

I like IGN. I've got insider access and I check it every day. I never really liked Gamespot all that much, even when it was a free site. What kept me with IGN back in the day was that updated all day long, and had the most content, but now they update one time a day (usually around 10 pm EST). 20 bucks a year isn't bad, and I usually like IGN's reviews.

On the same kind of topic has anyone signed up to the download part of the IGN service. In their own words "Boost your download speed with transfer rates up to 1 MB/sec" which sounds pretty decent. Wondered if anyone used it and thought it was worth the money?
