Analogue or Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge?

Recommended Posts

So I was looking at getting a tyre pressure gauge.

Analogue or Digital? I would prefer the former as I don't want to have to be messing about with batteries but are they as good?

Here's what I was looking at. It says BAR but also does PSI which is what I'll be using. I have a stock MK2 Focus (UK).

Any advice?

Thanks

I think analogue tire gauges are better, I have a $5US that works great, really as long as you are within +-1PSI you should be fine. Here in the United States, we can't really rely on the tire pressure gauges that are at air pumps in gas stations too much.

digital is more accurate. i'd pick a simple digital one.

This is false. Race teams use analog dial pressure guages due to consistency and their durability as well as their accuracy over the digital models. I use a analog for my sons race car which is accurate to .01 and is very consistent.

Btw the pencil gauges are accurate to .5 lbs. not bad for around a dollar. And they don't need batteries.

This one is up to 2% but goes up to 60 lbs. mine is a 15lbs for my sons car.
