[Lion] Installing Windows 8 with Boot Camp

Recommended Posts

I have OS X Lion installed. AFAIK my MacBook can't support Mountain Lion :(.

Is there a way that I can install Windows 8 through Boot Camp, preferably with a USB thumb drive?

I get Windows 8 through my MS TechNet subscription and want to give it a whirl. :)

what model macbook do you have?

There is no way for you to install the OS from a USB or to a USB drive

I stand corrected..

What model is your Macbook? As long as you have a Core 2 Duo, you should be able to install Mountain Lion.

I don't know the model, but it was from 2007 or 2008. I'll check further when I get home.

My MacBook model is a "13-inch Mid-2007" with: 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.

So I don't really care about Mountain Lion. What I want is to install Windows 8 somehow. Can it be done through Boot Camp?

Just for the record. The Windows 7 BootCamp drivers seem to work fine with Windows 8. I'm running Win 8 on my Late 2008 uMBP.

You can force moutain lion to install on unsupported hardware?

What's it like if you've got intel GFX and there's no corrisponding 64-bit driver for it?

I'd go ahead and guess "crappy".
