+InsaneNutter MVC Posted September 4, 2012 MVC Share Posted September 4, 2012 I have been thinking of using my own domain for email, i own an .eu and .me.uk domain which consists of my firstname and surname (.com, .net .me, co.uk were taken sadly). However after registering the domains i have realised i cannot not hide my address / phone number from the whois information with services like "whois guard" from namecheap. Edit - Just been looking more in to this, for .me.uk domains apparently if you are a non-trading individual you can opt-out your contact info. ill send namecheap a message and see if they can do so. +InsaneNutter MVC Posted September 9, 2012 Author MVC Share Posted September 9, 2012 After a lot of messing about i managed to do this for both some .eu and .uk domains i owned; Whois opt-out for .eu domains and Whois opt-out for .uk domains. Easy when you know how, just wasn't obvious at all how you had to go about it.
