+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted October 24, 2003 Subscriber² Share Posted October 24, 2003 I preferred season 1. I will not say it was better, but to me it was a whole new idea, and I only saw it on DVD, not TV, so I watched it in MY time.
neoxphuse
Season 1 involved saving the president from being assisanated and rescuing his daughter. Season 2 involved saving L.A. from a nuke. They are both good, but I would have to vote for Season 1. Every move was unpredictable.
CrimsonBlur
In my mind, Jack Bauer is one of the best characters that has ever been created for TV. 24 itself is one of the best shows I have ever witnessed on the small screen, and it rivals most movies I've seen as well. When you buy the season DVDs and watch them, it is really like watching a really, really long full-blown movie. That said, when you concentrate on the character development it is amazing. Bauer is so disturbed and conflicted at this point, after season one and now season two. You root for him even when he makes very questionable decisions, and not all of them turn out "right", as in, morally. But in the end he always gets the job done better than anyone else could. The thing you have to wonder though is, like they say many times in the first season "how many people have died BECAUSE OF Jack Bauer?". Very well-done show. NYPD Blue and some of the other crime dramas have touched on this before with their characters, but none have been so deep as 24 (in my opinion). Anyone agree/disagree? devBrian
Season 2 was SO disappointing, and season 3 looks like crap. Season 1 was great... oh well. It's repetative... Anyone agree/disagree? 24 is the most amazing show I have ever watched. I got SO involved I couldn't believe it. I normally just watch a programme and that is it but 24 became part of my life. I think the acting and direction is of the higest quality. obviously there are not so good bits but overall I have never seen a tv programme or movie that has been so perfectly made. Also the storyline is amazing. So detailed and things from EP1 can effect things in EP16 and you suddenly think about them and go "god that was so long ago" and then think "wait a minute it was only 16 hours ago, thats nothing!!" it is genius. Pure Genius!
neoxphuse
Wow it's a tie so far. I think some of S2 votes are because some of them haven't watched S1. S1 is defintely worth a watch. I already own the S1 dvd's. Time to get the second... Omg, only 3 more days left.
