futile

think the main thing is that it stores valuable info which could be a security risk, like some passwords, or shares info etc..

Dunno if it helps boot faster? my Pagefile has to be 2.3Gigs cause my RAM is 1.5Gigs. I belive its a good idea to have your pagefile a static size rather than variable, (for best stability).

Yes, that's very good advice, futile, it is recommended that you have a static or fixed size page file, and the amount that you allocate is usually between 1.5 and 2 times of your actual physical ram in your system.

Hrm, two questions. I use windows 2000, and well, how do I set the page file to use a static amount of diskspace. Also, how do I clear it?

Just go to "My Computer", right click, and pick properties, (or just press windows key + break to do the same), and then go to the advanced tab, then the virtual memory settings are under the Performance section hit the settings button, and then follow yer nose!
