peacemf
So i have a 3g dongle from three, and they've been pestering to upgrade to the state of the art dongle for no extra cash but a two year contract. I have a mifi device, but once it get hot the internet connection more or less shuts down. i saw some 3g routers but they all need you to plug in the dongle at the back. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with these? i dont have a hard internet connection cos its works out cheaper to stay with the dongle, also now that virgin has unlimited internet sim only its equally as cheap, but not as good as a proper connection :(
Detection
Cheaper with dongle from 3 ? I used to be with 3 + Dongle, I paid ?25 p/m for 7GB.... not cheaper at all but had no choice at the time I also have a 3G Router that you can plug a dongle into, it works, but it disconnects every few minutes, worse than the dongle was, might just be a cheap 3G Router though, I only invested in
+jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted September 9, 2012 Subscriber² Share Posted September 9, 2012 Your 'Mi-Fi' device is virtually the same as a 3G router, but it's all in one unit. I wouldn't really recommend you get a standalone 3G Router over one.
peacemf
Im currently paying ?15 for 15gb a month with three. Virgin have offered me ?12 a month UNLIMITED with no FUP sim only but can use it in a dongle. Hmm, maybe its best to just get a new mifi,
ReDFoX2200
Hey mate you could use one of Huawei router eg. Huawei B970 those routers don't need a dongle. Just insert your sim card there and it will work just fine, also what is good about those modems you could add an external antenna for better signal. link http://www.modem3g.com/b970-router-p-36.html
