vbulletin 5

Recommended Posts

it pops in then out and in and out... that's annoying as hell!!!!!! and it also looks like one of those forum systems that are embedded in joomla or something....I forget the name.... it's a 90% rip of it and vbulletin should be ashamed of themselves. adding facebook crap and copying another forum system is all they did. Just so they can call it a new version.... wow.

I've been using vBulletin for a VERY long time and I hate to say it, but that looks generic. Either way, we'll have to wait until it's officially released before we can make any judgments.

So sad they crushed XenForo to release this crap. They certainly won't finish with their crappy versions scheme, beta 1, beta 1000, "version 1.0.0 beta 1000000000 patch level 20000 almost ready for release TM"

Keir Darby is wating for the next full moon to seek his revenge.....

Well, it is just a beta. When they get finished with it, it will probably be awesome. vBulletin usually is.

They are selling the "beta" and it sucks. I have vBulletin 4 and they did the same thing. They sold a beta but called it gold. It took them years to fix that buggy garbage and then the ditched it right after it reach version 4.2. I felt like I got scammed. Now they are doing the same thing but this product looks even worse than vBulletin 4 did and that is very hard to do. I think anybody buying vBulletin software is a big sucker. They have been scamming their customers for years and this is like a big sign that you want to punish yourself.

If anything, it shows vbulletin is moving in one direction, and ipb in another.

VB (currently) looks to be getting rid of bloat (which they had tons of), and ipb seems to be adding more and more bloat (just look at their latest offerings).

Should be interesting to see how the final version forms tho. Def not easy to make a responsive forum layout, when you have to worry about so many things.

FWIW. dont go over to vbulletin.com forums an tell them it'll be a Disaster as they'll Ban you for insulting & spamming . they banned me coz i told them the truth which they cant handle. but if vbulletin5 is going in that direction, expect IPB to go the same Route. the same people own IPB that own vbulletin.

I don't think vBulletin is worth the money any more. I'm not saying you should only use free software, I just don't see it as a worthwhile investment.

4.3 is coming fyi. One positive thing is it has made vb4 license cheap as its included along with a vb5 purchase.

I cant believe xenforo has gone to the dogs, no releases in ages and they confirmed they wont release until the hearing in January
