Zoom no longer possible on mobile site

On the front page I used to be able to unzoom the text and it would show the teaser content. All I see now is half a headline next the news image.

I'm on portrait mode on HTC Desire. Using default browser on Android Cyanogen 7.

Can it be changed so the user has control back? Or was there a greater reason for locking it down?

We've NEVER allowed the user to zoom in on the mobile version of the site. But since you're on android, I believe some browsers let you force zoom. You should still be able to zoom on the desktop site (link to view that in the menu).
