how to have a different static ip depending on wireless network

Recommended Posts

You mean that you locally set on the interface? The interface does not care what wireless network you connect to, if you set an manual IP on the interface that is what it is. Does not matter what wireless network you connect too.

Now if your talking talking some software wireless supplicant that could set your IP locally for you depending on what network you connect to, sure that is possible.

Are are you asking if you could setup dhcp reservations on each network so that specific machine always got the same IP when connected to that network.

Could you give a bit more details of what your looking for exactly.

Is there a way to have a different static ip depending on the wireless network you are connected to in Windows 7?

if you have a ThinkPad, Access Connections can be set up to do that for you. If you don't, maybe your manufacturer provided a similar utility... I'm not sure of any third party utilities out there that would do it but I imagine there would have to be at least one.
