hoyablue
,Oct 28 2003, 19:26] still who noticedthat besides few persons? the elements are there but they needed to "level them down" for the mass audience Exactly, which is why I argued: "I guess when you are marketing to a mass audience, you wouldn't consider going to deep, which is why Solaris was not much of a success. But The Matrix has a fundamentally good premise that could've been exploited to make it more or less a classic in terms of art and intelligence. hoyablue
Its really hard to explain, it really depends on how you interpret it. My interpretation was that it was trying to give a literary portrayal on the distinction between Heaven/Hell/Real life. It delves a little into Existentialism, I believe, because at several points in the movie, they refer to the "Closest Continuer Theory". Its hard to explain, really. That's what I loved about the movie, you could watch it with a friend and they would interpret differently than you. It funded hours of great philosophical discourse, that's for sure. JodyWatts
No offence, but it doesn't look good when you preech how brilliant and deep-thinking the dialogue is and yet can't spell philosophical. ;) funny, where I am from ... preech is spelled preach. :p
