Intermittant Connectivity

Recommended Posts

I have a strange problem with my new desktop, randomly I have Intermittant Connectivity, "Connected Not Transferring"

When this happens, Steam may have connectivity (no "NO CONNECTION" error), I maintain a valid IP address (192.etc), WIndows returns all INTERNET access. Skype may or may not to down, none of my bookmarks will work. Also, I cannot access my router's internals. Connectivity may magically return, if I lose my patience, I will reboot, fixing the problem for a few hours at a time, I rarely get uninterrupted access for 48 straight hours or more.

Windows 7, running default Windows Defender suite.

sounds like tcpip may be fubar'd. right click on your connection by your time and then click repair.

If that doesn't work open a elevated command prompt and run the following

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

reboot computer.

I bricked a XP machine, a few years ago messing with TCP IP, requiring a reformat. So, I know not to mess with that again. I am familiar with netsh

Connected-Not-Transferring issue makes no sense, the wireless laptop is perfectly fine for months at a time. But not this hardwired Desktop
