[uk] PARKING TICKET ON MOTORBIKE!?!?!?

Recommended Posts

I just got a parking ticket on my motorbike... for not displaying the correct permit!?!? ITS A MOTORBIKE I cannot attach the residential permit to a motorbike! it will get stolen and there is no way to secure it! surely this must be a massive load of BS ???

also on the parking ticket they left the tax disc part blank... surely that means they incorrectly filled this out :3 ?? any suggestions ?

If they missed out things on the ticket, then you have a right to appeal. Go for it.

I have never gotten one in the 5 years of me driving... I dont know if it is missed out because its meant to be or what? all i know is next to "tax disc:" is blank

As james has said try and appeal it, if you feel that the form has not been correctly filled in.

Not being a biker i can not answer this myself but i would of thought that they made motorbike permits these days too, i suggest you look into that.

Well, your options are:

1) Don't park in a permit parking only area

2) Attach the permit to your motorbike (I bet you can figure it out)

Having a motorbike is no excuse for illegally parking. As for the ticket itself, I have no idea if leaving that part blank helps you in any way, sorry.

I too ride a motorcycle and this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Appeal it. Probably the ticketer was needing his 'hits' up.

people steal permits over here and if you lose it you have to pay around the same amount as the parking ticket to buy a new one... you are kinda screwed... I live next to a field where people get stabbed, raped and mugged normally all at the same time... it is that rough ...

Why not attach the parking permit in the same way that your tax disc is attached?

I did think about that but then it would obscure the tax disc which is massivly illegal xD cause i wouldnt be displaying a valid tax disc

here in the UK I'm pretty sure you can't give a motorbike parking ticket, as there's where to attach the ticket to. Appeal it, or if its not a council ticket, just throw it away.

Exactly, if its not a council or police issued ticket. it means nothing

throw it, dont pay it.

Look on money saving expert for advice, they are not fines, they are request for payment and are not legally enforceable.

OP you got a ticket for not displaying your permit. as for the ticket not having your tax disk info

id take that up with the council who issued the ticket.

if you are worried about some one stealing your permit then you are allowed to use a photo copy and display that.

when they do a check on the database they will see your permit is valid.
