Did I pay too much? Yep.

I bought the 70". It arrives Wed.

I can't freakin' wait. The showroom floor demo was

freakin' sweet, though. Since I plan to have it professionally

calibrated, I'm expecting great things come Superbowl time.

The availability of LG OLEDs and the samsungs are towards the end of the year. Did you consider waiting for any of them?

well congrats. I think you cant go wrong with either TV. The prof. calibration is a no brainer. when you spend that kind of $ on a tv whats another $300-$400. I am currently in the market to replace my aging LCD... my #1 pick right now is the 55VT50. post back after Wednesday .. post some pictures!!

Ok, so reporting in.

The TV was a bust. When it arrived, it had a damaged screen with fingerprints all

over it. Obviously, I got an open box product.

The Tech that showed up also pointed out to me that with my room setup, a Plasma

would work much better due to its better viewing angles compared to the Elite. So

I've returned the Elite and have a Panasonic P65VT50 on the way. Should be getting

installed tomorrow.
