Coupling

The show coupling is an awesome show, if you have not seen it, you can see the american version some time during the week and if you are in america and want to watch the British(much more funny) version, then you can get them on DVD. i have all 3 seasons and this show is like sienfeld british style, but a bit more racy.

OR, since the American version sucks, you can watch it on PBS Monday nights (maybe every night, but I watched it last night) or on BBC|America (I don't know the time)

I didnt think much of it either, was good at times though, and filled the half hour slot quite well. Ones of those you dont mind watching when nothing else is on.

Has nothing on My Family though, which everyone but me seems to hate...

the american version is dumb.

can someone explain the 2 versions? are they the same actors (they didn't have british accents), just the same script? is anything the same?

american tv likes to copy off the original uk shows...nbc thought that since they needed a friends replacement that coupling would be it...but it just wasn't the same because the original uk show was funny...diff actors, kinda the same scripts, and i think steve moffat was "advisor" but nothing was permanent on that

so why call it coupling? it sounds like a completely different show? they just wanted to use the name?

i think so....they think that the us fans will see the name and think it's as good as the uk version

Yay Coupling - tis good. Haven't seen the American version only the UK one. Expect going by the pilot for Red Dwarf that it'll be a little bit cheesy. Strange thing is my brother is watching it downstairs with his girlfriend, ahh. :D

That is one of the worst written shows I have ever wasted 30 minutes of my life on!??:no:o:

Brittish one or American one, hon? I didn't like the American one, but I've seen a few of the Brittish ones and I think they're quite alright.:):)

i'm a father ted and abfab fa(Y)Y)

But I'd rather go with her, loveb> Father Ted. One of the funniest shows I had ever seen (hopefully someone doesn't try to make a US version of it... I'd hate to see what would happen, ugh).

I wouldn't say it's British comedy at it's best (Blackadder has that crown) but it's excellent. The first and (I think) third series were brilliant but I didn't really enjoy the second - thought it was too formulaic. It's quite painful to watch but very funny, unlike say The Office which is just painful without being funny very often.

My Family is fairly good. Fools and Horses is inconsistant but generally very good. AbFab sucks to an amount that would be astonishing if it wasn't for the standard set by Gimme Gimme Gimme.

I've never had the chance to watch the Britsh version, but it MUST be better than the American one. It would take a LOT to be worse, and you know, I just don't think it's possible!
