Marshall Veteran Posted October 22, 2012 Veteran Share Posted October 22, 2012 9 times out of 10 it is a members linked signature that flags a false positive. In all seriousness, you need to learn how to take a screenshot. Matthew_Thepc, Chasethebase, Charisma and 5 others 8 Share
Chasethebase Reporter Posted October 22, 2012 Reporter Share Posted October 22, 2012 Could you post a higher resolution of that image so we can see exactly what the URL itself was blocked, since it seems to be appearing in a specific thread, it's likely to be related to someone's signature. Hum
Is this the offending web link ? http://www.pirateparty.org.uk/ +theblazingangel http://www.neowin.ne...ed/page__st__15
Shane Nokes
I looked at the thread, took a look at all items in source and listed by members, and the only thing that looks like it might even approximate the URL I'm seeing is this image. Does that cause it to appear? To clarify it's an image that appears in the signature of member theblazingangel It's a 0x0 png & and points to http://lrebrown.x10h...g_lbrown_v3.png Because that particular site no longer exists it would redirect directly to http://hosting.x10hosting.com/ ...which I think is the site that is being shown I believe in the image the OP posted. Shane Nokes
Well that proves that for some reason the image that 'theblazingangel' has linked is causing these warnings to pop up. Someone should probably notify them...

The Evil Overlord
Zonealarm here... all is clear... Although if you think about it, there's a lot of malice used by some trolls on this site, just like any forum, so in theory... maybe avast was right...? Although if you think about it, there's a lot of malice used by some trolls on this site, just like any forum, so in theory... maybe avast was right...? Well if ZoneAlarm is giving the all clear that the URL is not malicious, then I'm convinced! The title of this thread needs to be changed, it specifies Neowin to be malicious, not a URL within it. Something more like Avast identifies a thread on Neowin to contain malicious content would be better.
