Recommended Posts

i played max payne 1 and max payne 2. didn't anyone else feel like the 2nd one was a let down. i thought it was just a little short and anti-climatic. and very similar to the first one. what did they rest of you guys think?

No, Max Payne 2 was awesome. It is quality, not quantity that is important and it was definitely quality.

Beat Dead on Arrival, then answer your own question.

it looks a lot better than before, but i don't like how he can't do the flips anymore like he used to.. and choice of weapons are still the same, i don't like that.

Great ending to the story, but it did feel at times like the only new thing was the Havok physics engine.

Could have easily been an addon. The art and voice acting were spot on though, I bet thats what 90% of the hard work and effort was put into.

But yes.. Like the first, way too short.

No way, Max Payne 2 rocks, I loved the second ending, even though it was a bit sappy. It just made going through all that sh*t worth it. The first ending was a letdown b/c it was like, "What did I do all this for?"

Anyways, the graphics are better, Mona is hotter (love the nude easter egg), and the story stays true to the first.(Though it seems less gritty and depressing than the first.) I've beaten it 4 times already, but every time I find something new in it. Can't wait for the next one!!!

Max Payne 1 was better, MP2 is really short but the quality is excellent.

Hello no! That smile on his face was worth it, he was at peace.

What was it he said? Something like.. "I had a dream, my wife was dead. But it was ok." Way better than the 'alternative' ending.

i thought Max Payne 2 was every bit as good as the orginal, yeah it didn't take graphics into a new dimension but the story was solid and so was the gameplay i thought it was really good how it made you feel like you was part of the story i haven't felt like that in a game for a long time.

I though no. 2 was ok. The body reactions to being shot was cool. And it's great that Bullet time doesn't need people to die to regenerate.

were the dream sequences in the second one as well? i hated those damn things :(

There are a couple of dream sequences in there, but they're not nearly as annoying as those in the first one.

Except the fact that the game is damn short, I enjoyed it.

I played Max Payne 1 and I'm playing Part III of Max Payne 2 right now, and so far I have enjoyed every second of the game. I suppose it could have used some new features beyond bullet time 2, but why fix something that's not broken?

I enjoyed the game immensely. I found that the coding was done very very well, with my Gforce3TI i had everything on max and it ran smooth. Very well done.
