Dan in St Louis
Any recommendations on an inexpensive DVD player for DVD+R? My Cyberhome will play +RW, but not +R. Thanks!

+Warwagon MVC Posted October 30, 2003 MVC Share Posted October 30, 2003 a modded xbox would be cheaper. Probobly cheaper but not as simple... plus I'm not a fan of starting up a hard drive every time I want to watch a movie....

Tiger.Girl
the JVC XV-N40BK (black) and XV-N44SL (silver) has pretty good bang for your buck for under $100 as long as you arent looking for something region free and macrovision disabled
velocity3k
Probobly cheaper but not as simple... plus I'm not a fan of starting up a hard drive every time I want to watch a movie.... the xbox takes a matter of seconds to load up, everything is straight forward menu navigation. XBMP behaves just like XP Media Center and it plays everything you chuck at it (DivX/XviD/OGM/MKV etc..). i use my xbox as a media center, it is cheaper than most dvd players that offer the same functionality, it is cheap and cheerful.
