Chasethebase Reporter Posted November 14, 2012 Reporter Share Posted November 14, 2012 You should have received a lot more then that, are you sure they didn't auto apply last night? Check your Update History. Ah, after installing that and restarting, it found 16 important and 1 optional (Bing Desktop, bleurgh). So yeah, all is well. grayscale
I'm not sure if it's due to an application I used, or this update, so I'm asking here. (The application was "OblyTile".) My IE icon on the Start screen is now the metro one, all the time. Previously, the icon would change between the desktop and metro versions depending on whether or not IE was the default browser. Now, Nightly is my default browser, but the IE icon is still the metro version. I'm not complaining about this, just curious if something in this batch of patches is the cause. No, it's been there even before the update. I've asked the OblyTile author about this and he has no solution other than creating a new IE shortcut. Night Prowler
Be careful; Backup your system prior to updating the KB2770917 patch, as it looped just prior to getting the locked screen on Windows 8. I've seen other post regarding similar problems with this one. Hopfully Microsoft will have a patch for the patch in a couple of days. Not everyone is having this problem. Michael Churma III
ahhell you know its only true. Man have you seen some of the windows updates rolling out? I had to migrate a few workstations to larger drives just because of all updates. Granted they where a bit dated. I do find it nice though on windows rt, whenever there is an update you don't have to download a whole darn new image to perform the update like iOS does. Kyang
No, it's been there even before the update. I've asked the OblyTile author about this and he has no solution other than creating a new IE shortcut. Thanks for the reply. I also ended up asking him myself, and indeed the problem was OblyTile.
