Windows Registry Problem

Recommended Posts

Today when I booted up my computer it came up with a blue screen (similar to the win98 scandisk) and it said my registry was corrupted and it would restore it from a backup. So I clicked OK and everything worked fine. I just booted up my computer again and it got into windows and came up with an alert saying that something is wrong with the registry, click ok to reset and restore. So I reset and then it restored my registry in that blue screen again. So it had to restore it twice in a day, what could be causing this? And how do I prevent it from happening?

I know some of you will have the urge to reply telling me to get a newer version of windows, well don't because I'm not.

Boot in dos mode and use the extract command to restore old registry files from the sysbackup directory..."C:WindowsSysbackup" and use the extract command "extract /a /l c:windows oldregistry_cabinet_file *.*". Better use norton commander to see exactly the latest registry backup. Watch the date when it was made. Restart and let's hope it works

yes it is free...read the tabs...free tools...they have a free tool for scanning of viruses there...I have used it on friends computers and just checked mine...in fact they have a click spot for scan without registering.
