Nick H. Supervisor Posted December 15, 2012 Supervisor Share Posted December 15, 2012 I'm more intrigued about why you would be setting your PC's clock to the year 2038. The reasons for why a certificate would be "expired" by that point are fairly obvious.

GunbladerQ
Perhaps Bing will dominate the search business in 2039.
thatonedood
Every couple of years Google has to renew it's contracts and databases. So this could be the issue. I've read about them doing this once before, so I'm sure there's no concern. I haven't read much into the technical side, but I'm sure you can look up "Google renewing/updating software" and run from there.

Noir Angel
Why the hell would you want to? Security certificates for websites are designed to be in operation for certain dates, and they are then renewed or revoked. There's no point generating security certificates for dates 26 years into the future.
