Grey$cale Posted November 2, 2003 Share Posted November 2, 2003 everytime i am on a server my ping jumps from 70 and then goes back down again..wtf? does anyone now how to fix this problem, and man here in Orlado, there aren't even any good server with a low ping..wtf? is it just me or does anyone else have the same problem? UNLESS you are talking about CS 1.6 1.6 is the worst game to find servers, there is only one decent server called Redphive, (btw a retired neowin member) You can find the ip for servers on teh steam forum Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Squirrelington Posted November 3, 2003 Share Posted November 3, 2003 rate is depreciated and to my knowledge is no longer function in console, there is a setting in registry called rate added by steam you may edit ot use cl_rate as for your problem, did you try sorting by physical server location(US - East)? Callaway Posted November 5, 2003 Share Posted November 5, 2003 I've noticed when I pull up servers, I'm pinging over 500ms to them, yet when I join I've holding steady under 80ms.
