"Jericho" could be finding a home on Netflix

In an interview with Nerdacy, co-creator Stephen Chbosky said there are still talks to revive the twice-canceled CBS series.

"You know WME [William Morris Endeavor] Agency, who represents me, Jon Turteltaub and many other people, and they?ve been talking to Netflix and you never know," Chbosky said. "I can?t say what it will be in Season 3, but I?m excited for the new developments."

Like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Jericho" got a comic series that continued the adventures of the characters.

"The greatest fans in the world came out strong for 'Jericho Season Three: Civil War' and we are so thrilled to announce another installment of the comic book series," Dan Shotz, executive producer of "Jericho," said in a statement when a second season of the comic book series was announced. "Jake and Hawkins have finally come home to Jericho and we want to personally thank those fans and IDW for allowing that to happen."

"Jericho" premiered on CBS in September 2006 to 11.7 million viewers. After a low-rated first season, the network pulled the plug on the Skeet Ulrich-fronted series. However, a fan campaign that saw viewers send peanuts to the network convinced CBS to order a seven-episode Season 2. But the media attention didn't bring more viewers and ratings were worse than Season 1 so "Jericho" was canceled again.

Rumors of "Jericho" returning with new episodes via Netflix have been popping up here and there with TV Guide providing a credible report in May 2012. Since then, there's been no official word. Better get those peanuts ready.

I really miss this show and enjoyed it a lot. I hope the chances are high that it does get revived; yet again.

It would have been nice to have seen at least a few more seasons of FlashForward and The Event.
