MegaManXcalibur
Well I just got back from seeing this movie a while ago. And just before you read there maybe spoilers, although I'll try to avoid giving much of the stroy away. *ONCE AGAIN! POSSIBLE SPOILERS* Ok as you probably already know Neo comes out of his coma (I won't go into specifics) and Zion is about to be attack by the machines. Of coarse this means there is going to be a huge fight scene in Zion, that wow it has to be one of the best fight scenes I've ever seen. The humans are armed with A.P.U.s (Armored Personall Units) which is mechas with twin machine guns (nowhere near the power of a BattleMech, and quite a bit weaker then a Gear, not to mention the pilots are competly exposed, and.... wait this isn't a Mech review, sorry). Now the machines are attacking with 250,000 sentinals which of coarse attack en mass. The whole fight scene is pretty much done in CGI, and it is done well! The machines get into Zion (which is surprising with the amount of ammunition the humans are sending at these bots) and attack in waves, huge waves, of about 125,000 all grouped together, almost attacking as one. That's all I'll say for now, you'll find out what the other 125,000 sentinals are doing if you see it. Then you have Neo deciding to go to the machines main city (I'll call it the biggest, fastest, most bad *** server on Earth) to stop the attack on Zion. I'm not going to say much here besides the city guard bots look really cool, they spent a lot of time on their design (just as they did with all the bots). Then you have the epic fight of Smith vs. Neo, one of my friends said it looks kind of like a scene out of Dragon Ball Z, with the flying about and really bad ass beatings Smith and Neo are dealing each other. The special effects during this fight rock! They are fighting in the rain, and when Smith and Neo really hit each other the rain littlerly is repelled by the force (the over used the effect if you ask me but it's cool). It's also really cool to see all the Smiths in the city during the fight (he's been very busy replicating that's for sure). As for the Orcle the had to work around the actual Oracle actor dying, so they threw in a new person to take her place. They don't really try to explain why she looks different, but the characters do notice (hard to fix something like that when one of your actors die so I'll give them credit for doing the best job they could). Overall this move was absolutly amazing, it was a little slow at the beggining, but when it picks up it really picks up! The Zion battle was absolutly amazing, best use of CGI I can think of. If you liked the first two movies you'll love this, if you hated the first two you'll hate these, as you could of already guessed. Overall it's hard to say to much more about this movie without devulging to far into the story, but it's definaly a well thought out ending. Ryne
The final fight came straight out a dragonball episode ;). It was lovely, but I didn't really enjoy the ending too much. Well, it was money well spent for me, I was entertained.

rezza Veteran Posted November 9, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 9, 2003 1st matrix: undoubtedly a classic. fantastic movie. 2nd matrix: boring, cringingly bad dialogue, convoluted story 3rd matrix: dull for a long time, good battle scene, ridiculously over the top comedy ending. The last two films are not even close to being in the same league as the first one.
