Dual Screen Issue

Recommended Posts

+longgonebn    74

Just setup two monitors on my Ubuntu 12.04 system and I am having this issue.

If I have a full screen video playing on one monitor, its fine, until I click on the other monitor (application) then as you can see the menu bars show up ontop.

Anyway to stop this from happening?

Did you try putting the fullscreen movie on the other monitor?

No, but that isn't what I want. The one I am using is bigger, better lol

Why not flip your screens around? ?I think that bar has to be up if another window is being used (a.k.a using your browser when watching movie)

I don't understand how that would make sense.

Why does it have to be there?

Also, side question, are there any dual screen management apps for linux? I also can't figure out how to put different wallpapers on the 2 screens, I don't want a large image to fit both (its a weird resolution),

That is expected as you changed the focus to the OS when you clicked somewhere else as it loses focus.

Yea but shouldn't the OS be smart enough to know that it's a full screen application that most likely does not want the menu overlapping it.

Try right-clicking on the title bar of the media player window (when its not full-screen) and selecting "Always On Top". That setting should stick even after you full-screen the window again.

Yea that worked. Thanks.

Of course when I have it windowed it can be annoying, but much better :)

Having another issue.

When I move the mouse from the left to the right monitor, the mouse pointer gets stuck, I have to push harder to make it move on over.
