"THE BEGINNING OF THE END," Smith wrote on Facebook.

"20 years ago today, we started shooting CLERKS. 20 years later, with no plan or provocation, I jumped out of bed at 4:20 this morning and started writing CLERKS III."

He added: "It's been like hanging out with old friends. And after 2 hours of tapping the keys and giggling, I have come to a conclusion... CLERKS III will be the best film I'll ever make."

Smith's debut movie Clerks was released in 1994. The colour follow-up Clerks II followed in 2006.

The movies starred Brian O'Halloran as convenience store clerk Dante Hicks and Jeff Anderson as video shop worker Randal Graves, with Smith playing Silent Bob and Jason Mewes playing Jay

A couple of months ago, I confirmed Kevin Smith was working on Clerks 3 well I downloaded his latest podcast and to my surprise the man who created my childhood would have a part in the new movie, and no it's not Paul Dini.. But It's been confirmed that Stan "The Man" Lee will have a role in Clerks 3 .

He got up at 4:20 to smoke a blunt no doubt. Once he was baked, he started writing Clerks III.

He doesn't do drugs, for clerks 2 he told Jason Mewes to stay off the drugs and booze for the movie.

Yeah, yeah he does.

He talks about it in his "A Night With Kevin Smith" videos. He's turned into a hardcore stoner >.<

I'm glad he's making another movie, I couldn't believe it when he said he wasn't going to make any more :(

IT IS ACCOMPLISHED! CLERKS III, FIRST DRAFT.

At 137 pages, it plays like THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK of what's now become the Clerks Trilogy. And I am SO in love with it. Pictured is the script with the clapboard we used on the original CLERKS. Both the old clapboard and the old filmmaker are ready to go back to Jersey for the last time...

The first one was a classic and every line is a piece of genius. To this day i still play the number 37 bonus ball in my local pub lottery syndicate.

The second one was a great film, not the same level as the first one but it had a lot to look up to.

Hopefully the third will be just as good. Even if it's half as good as the first one it'll still be an amazing film.

Man, I still just want a sequel to Mallrats.

I hear ya man!

What with Jason Lee being all wacky Scientologist like, i don't see it happening. :(
