steam Steam for OpenSUSE Help

I recently jumped over to OpenSUSE 12.3 with KDE, and so far it's been a great experience, however, I can't get native steam games to work. I open up HL1 and it crashes directly to the desktop. I'm in the process of trying out Serious Sam 3 right now. I have the proprietary 310.xx NVIDIA drivers installed. I installed steam form Valve's wiki here. I have Mesa 9 installed like it says.

I would post an output/log -- but how do I do that?

Any suggestions? Thanks!
