Elliot B.
Is there a way to change from the C:Documents and Settings format, into the classic C: format? For example, if I want to unzip the contents of a ZIP file to the desktop, I want to unzip it to the C:WindowsDesktop directory, not the C:Documents and SettingsDesktop directory, liek I could in Windows 9x! Hope you understand what I mean... Oh, and I'm the only user (and always have been), so I have no IDEA why this format is in use. Is it the default Windows XP (Professional) format or something? I want the old Windows 98SE format back :)
Joel
One user or not, there is always the possibility you could add users. Windows XP gives every user their own desktop, therefore they must be in a central place for organizational purposes. Extract your Winzip files to Desktop, this will accomplish what you want (I think).
nexionly
I think I understand how you feel. when you are unzipping something you have to go and find the desktop in the folder searchy thing. instead of simply typing c:windowsdesktop That was easier than finding it in the pull down menu. And as far as I know there is no way to do that. if you have another hd just unzip stuff to it. its easy to find and clean up after...
