Halo Running pants

Recommended Posts

I have an AMD 2700+ with 1gb DDR RAM and a gf4 ti 4200 , my 3dmark2001se score is 14000 .

I have all windows updates installed, ive disabled indexing servie and secondary logon service, I have DX9 installed (latest one i presume as its no longer listed as an update.

When playing Halo it runs nice and smooth but every few minutes for 30 seconds or so it gets jerky slowwing down to less than 1fps. The game seems to contiue but my display doesnt update.

are my specs not high enough ? (dont tell me i have to spend ?200 on another gfx card) or is there a patch i can install ?

Im running the game at 800x600 resolution and ive turned the details down a notch which doesnt seem to help.

any advice apreciated.

your specs shouldnt be the problem as I'm running Halo at 1024x768 with everything set to high and it runs perfect see my specs below.

Have you got anything running in the background?

no applications in the background, but I do have the usual windows services running, I will play about soppng services to see what is causing this to heppen (i am drunk at the moment so bad time to mess about)

In the meantime pls advise if u get any info on what might b causing this.

I will post updates :D

run it in pixel shader 1.1 or 1.4

How do I do that? cant find it as a setting on the game, unless there is some configuration tool im not finding or something? or is it something I set up on my gfx card ?

Thanks

oh btw, sorry for the nasty typing last night, lol, i was drunk (now my head hurts)

/edit - never mind, i found it, I will have a play with it.
