Jackalo
I've had this problem before under 98SE, but I can't seem to remember how to fix it. Basically, anytime that I try and run a game that utilizes DirectX (99% of my games), the game crashes to the desktop during the loading process. EverQuest, Unreal Tournament, DAOC, etc... They all crash. =( Anybody out there know what the fix is?
[saint lucifer]
I don't know man. My guess would either be your programs running OR your power supply. Might sound kind of weird but that was my problem once.

Jackalo
*points at his signature block* Anyways, I have a 400 watt ATX power supply, so I don't think that it's my power supply. I'm going to see if turning down my hardware acceleration helps.

Jackalo
Oh, ignore the WindowsXP bit. I ripped apart my entire home network and rebuilt everything right down to the last screw. I haven't had the chance to reinstall WindowsXP yet, so I'm still running 98SE. Figured I could do some gaming in it, but now it doesn't seem like I ever will. =p
Jackalo
Arg, turning down the hardware acceleration didn't seem to work. I'm going to use a DirectX uninstaller and try going back to v7 or v8. (I currently have v8.1 installed)
