A question for chemists...

Recommended Posts

Is there a (safe) chemical that can cause common chalk (calcium carbonate) or modern manufactured chalk (gypsum, hydrated calcium sulfate) to undergo a fiery chemical reaction?

I'd like to coat a rubbery surface with the said chemical so that if someone were to mark the surface with chalk, it will react and cause the chemical reaction to occur. Nothing too intense though, I just want to prank someone and get a reaction out of them (no pun intended).
