Skyleth
My Laptop (SonyZ505) does not have a cdrom drive, and the only CDROM it will boot from is a Sony PCMCIA CDROM, is there any way to install WinXP (as well as format my HDDs to NTFS using the windows setup) over the network (CD in my desktop machine)? MxxCon
if your laptop support bootp you can do that. why don't you get xp boot floppies and install from 'em?
StimpyX
The XP CD-ROM has a text file with installation instructions that include those for clean/upgrade install over a network (at least the Pro version does). Look in DOCS on the CD.
Skyleth
StimpyX: Thanks, i found it. Umm... will XP remember that i was installing over the network and reconnect after it's wiped my hard disk clean? Or will it copy all necessary files so it won't matter? MxxCon: "Bootp" What is this and how do i check?

Skyleth
Sweet, It worked, and was amazingly simple. I just shared the install files and ran it from my laptop (the one without the CDROM) and everything went perfectly from there!
