Scorbing
<snip> Why do you say that? From what I understand, she was a brave woman and a good leader. A very good friend of the late Ronald Reagan, who together tired to make the world a better place. I don't understand your feeling towards her. Scorbing
she was an upper class elitist, doing everything to appease the rich and destroying the working-class.... Oh....I see. That part I did not know since I do not live in the UK, but then again, aren't all politicians like that? Even here, in the U.S.?
McKay
Why do you say that? From what I understand, she was a brave woman and a good leader. A very good friend of the late Ronald Reagan, who together tired to make the world a better place. I don't understand your feeling towards her. She changed a lot of things when she was in power and made a lot of enemies. Killed the British Heavy Industry, the Poll Tax, sold off council housing, closed down most of the UK's coal mines to break the Unions. Forced the Royal Navy to switch from large warships to smaller frigates, which were easy pickings for Argentina's Exocet Missiles. She even ended free milk for kids as School. Im honestly surprised she had a heart failure, don't you have to have a heart to begin with? Hey at least this funeral will be interesting, it'll be the first time the 21 Gun Salute will be done into the coffin. Why not hand her over to the Scottish people? Im sure they could dig so far down they could hand her to Satan personally. TheLegendOfMart, jakem1, Pusska In Boots and 3 others 6 Share

Dick Montage
I personally agree with a lot of her politics, and it's easy to take them out of context. I know her policies hurt a lot of people financially, and understand the dislike. But before people post insults and name calling, imagine it were your grandmother who passed away. Very easy to try and play the uncaring idiot behind a keyboard isn't it... GrayW, Knife Party and theyarecomingforyou 3 Share

Well she may not have been perfect (no politician ever is) and she may have done a lot of things that ****ed people off, but one thing is certain: As a woman, she still had more balls than most of the men in our current administration here in the U.S.A. seta-san and Steven P. 2 Share

Crisp
She also made BT a private firm, and jumped ship when fibre broadband could of been the norm in the UK at the time. Bye, bye.

Dick Montage
well she also was responsible for a lot of peoples deaths. that any better? Specifically? I know a number of things you could point that remark to, that would fit many other leaders, so do go on? Any better? Nope! You don't celebrate someone dying - were you not brought up to understand simple respect?
game_over
I don't know much about her to pass judgement but she apparently destroyed the miners life in the North (where i live) and future generations.. i've heard lots of people say they would have parties when she died. RIP simonlang 1 Share
Nick H. Supervisor Posted April 8, 2013 Supervisor Share Posted April 8, 2013 well she also was responsible for a lot of peoples deaths. that any better? I guess we should applaud the death of all Prime Ministers and Presidents then? It comes with the job (see: decision making) and doesn't mean that the person was happy with the result.
Scorbing
well she also was responsible for a lot of peoples deaths. that any better? President Bush senior and President Bush Jr were also responsible for a lot of innocent deaths and so has been just about every president before them, are they any better than she was? spikey_richie
A stroke = Heart Failure because a stroke will cause the heart to fail sir. A stroke is cerebral, so yes a stroke could cause the heart to shut down, but she didn't die of heart failure; it was a side effect of the stroke. Dick Montage
she apparently destroyed the miners life in the North (where i live) and future generations She made a VERY tough and unpopular call. I applaud her for having the balls to do what needed to be done. Ending the mining was going to have to happen soon. Yes it REALLY hurt the north, but the whole areas chose to bitch and moan rather than move on (finally have now) with other industry. Typical north/south & class divides... spikey_richie 1 Share
