PcKiller
My website www.PcKiller.net has thrown up this comparison of the two top textures in Call of Duty on ATI 9800 256 MB and ATI 9800 Non-Pro 128 Mb video cards. Neodark, and I took uncompressed screenshots to use in this file. A friend of mine, Neodark, has made a flash file so you can see the differences in the extra, and the high textures on a 9800 Pro 256 MB, and a 9800 Non-Pro 128 MB video card. I took all of my uncompressed screenshots ( 1st and 3rd ) using the 9800 Pro 256MB card of the opening at the training level with 1,600 by 1,200 32 bit color, With 6X AA, and 16x AF. One has the extra textures, and the other has the high textures. Neodarks screen shot is the same setting as my 1st one, and his is the second one of the three. He was using a 9800 Non-pro 128 MB card. The screen shots are labeled so you can see which is which. We did this is show that there is not difference between a 9800 Pro 256MB card, and a 9800 Non-Pro 128MB card in Call of Duty like some people have been saying. You can download theflash file from My Website Edited November 10, 2003 by PcKiller

PcKiller
These pics are uncompressed that is why they are the file size they are. That way they do not lose IQ.

PcKiller
Well, Our purpose was to show that the ATI 9800 128 MB video cards could run the extra textures of Call of Duty. There were alot of people saying that the 9800 128 MB cards could not run the extra textures. Just trying to help people out.
qoa
That was a stupid big flash file for nothing. You probably should have ran the resoltion smaller. It's not like everyone that looked at it ran 1600x1200. I can run that game fine with extra textures on, and I only have a gforce4 mmx with 64 megs of ram. qoa
I run 1024x768 at 90fps. Not that I care to turn this into a penis contest. System ram is all you need for textures.
DigitalN.
frig. i had an older system that had an AMD athlon XP 2200+, 512MB ram, 80 gig maxtor, SB live, and a Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB and cranked EVERYTHING up in games including my res to 1024x768 and it ran like a dandy at 50fps and not a bit lower! PcKiller
Sodapop, You are welcome! qoa, If I am not mistaken, textures are loaded into the menory of the video card. And I am not trying to start any kind of contest. We made this file for people to see that if you have a 9800 128 MB card, you can indeed use the extra textures settings at 1,600 by 1,200 Rez.
DigitalN.
you always could! ANY game(that isnt DX9) will let you go to 16x AF 6x AA at 1600x1200 and will run fine! it takes a real video card to be puimpin out some sweet FPS(60 and above) tho. and also if you have a 9800 n/p 128 you will be wuppin the XT if you OC high enough!
