+John Teacake MVC Posted November 10, 2003 MVC Share Posted November 10, 2003 Its probably already been done before and most likely doesnt work but i was wondering what is likely to happen if you networked your X Box to your PC and then made an image of the drive using something like Norton Ghost over the network. Would you then be able to transfer this onto another hard drive if say for instance the original drive got damaged
BroChaos Veteran Posted November 10, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 10, 2003 you don't have to network them, you can just put the xbox drive in your pc and use ghost. however, you have to enter a special command to tell ghost to ignore the file system, i forget whta the code is, but it's on xbox scene. you could just ftp everything from one drive to the other too. You might as well just back it up through FTP.

BroChaos Veteran Posted November 11, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 11, 2003 How come you have to tell it to ignore the operating sytem. you don't tell it to ignore the os, you tell it to ignore the file system. the xbox file system is fatx, not fat32 or ntfs, so it's not recognized in windows or dos. ghost won't recognize it either, so you just tell it to ignore the filesystem.
