PNWDweller
Budget $150.00 Needs to support my weight sadly (270lbs) Most chairs are at 250lb capacity. I need lumbar support so would like that. What chairs do you guys/gals use that work if you are in the larger range like me? I am 6'2 1/2" Tall so height does matter with the chair as well. I am a huge fan of the Seatflex chairs by Balt have used them in the past but the price is out of the range. I have the following chair now: http://www.staples.com/Staples-Sidley-Luxura-Executive-High-Back-Chair-Brown/product_923275 However, the left Arm has snapped. (No doubt due to my weight and leaning back in it). So, I don't want a chair with those types of arms. (The chair is still under warranty but not due to this type of use and breakage). +Mirumir Subscriber¹ Posted April 27, 2013 Subscriber¹ Share Posted April 27, 2013 Hi, man! To be honest with you, you're asking for something impossible. You just can't get a chair with your requirements at that price, sorry. So, you have three options: 1) You can continue to buy the crappy $150-250 chairs from Staples and throw those away every couple of years. I don't weight as much as you do, but I used to be stuck in the same loop. 2) Switch to IKEA. Their chairs won't last longer than those from Staples, but, at least, the prices there are more affordable. 3) Get a Herman Miller chair. This is the best of the best. I haven't come across a better chair manufacturer yet. This will be the last chair you'll buy. Their Aeron model is my most favourite. Yes, it costs six hundred bucks, but when you put the things into perspective: your health, your satisfaction, the money you'll save in the long-term - it'll be worth every penny. Cheapest is the dearest :)

PNWDweller
Thanks! I will look on eBay as we don't have an IKEA anywhere near here. I was looking on eBay when I wrote this last night so this is what got me to wondering what everyone else used to help narrow the search down some. ;)
