Outlook 2013 window panes

Question

Hi,

I finally ponied up the bucks to upgrade to Office 2013. I love it but I wanted to optimize the Outlook main window to make it cleaner and sleeker. When you first run it there is a "favorites" window in the upper left corner just above the mailboxes. I was able to remove that but now there is a "New Email" window there, as seen in the image below. How can I get rid of that? If I click on the carat in the window that just moves the window to the left and makes a column of it. I just want it gone!

Thanks all for any help!

Cheers,

Highlight "View" then click on "Folder Pane" and uncheck "Favorites".

That did nothing. I already removed the favorites window that way.
