At their upfront presentation in New York, MTV today announced that they had given the greenlight to a one-hour pilot based on the Scream feature film series, renewed hit series Snooki & JWOWW for a third season and ordered three new reality series: Generation Cryo, Nurse Nation and The Hook Up.

Based on the Scream feature film series, MTV?s hour-long pilot will reinvent the successful horror comedy franchise that spawned three sequels and unleashed ?Ghostface? to a legion of unsuspecting fans. Dimension Films are producing with DiGa Vision. MTV and Dimension Films are in talks with a number of writers to pen the script and are also in negotiations with the films? original director Wes Craven to helm the pilot.

Horror comedy? I think they might be confusing Scream with Scary Movie :pinch:. Scream is not a comedy.
